This is the Wizard – he’s a Christchurch institution. I’d not seen him in the Square for a long time – probably years, as according to Wikipedia (source of all knowledge) he now spends most of his time in Oamaru and speaks in the Square between 1 and 2pm from November to Easter. Fair enough, as he’s 78 and he’s earned a rest!
So nice to see him again – the stepladders look new.

Leif – he’s actually looking conservative compared to his normal get up of black pointy hat and matching gown. It was very hot that day, so the tunic may have been cooler.
