Lovely weather today

Blossom tree with the Heathcote River – from Mt Pleasant

It has been about 20 degrees today, with blue skies – and I’m so pleased for all the people who have been badly affected by the quake and for those that have to get the city safe that they have fine weather – it just makes things so much more bearable.

My photo today is the view from the path to our front door (snapped at about 1.30pm today).  I always stop here and look out at it – usually you can see the mountains in the distance, but there was cloud obscuring them today. We’ve been expecting strong wind for days, but it has not eventuated – it got a bit windy, but it died out at about 5pm.

It was back to work for many people today including myself. My office is just outside of the CBD and has not been affected – though we were all a bit jumpy. I also work from home in the afternoon – and was glad to be there when the big aftershocks came through this afternoon. I’m getting quite nervy – especially with the ones that have the roar that comes first, then the jolt. I actually let out a little yelp when one of them hit!

Here’s hoping the weather keeps holding.

Yeah, I’m hearing lots of report on how localized the damage seems to be. Good to know that most aspects of your life has not been affected. Hope the shakes start to settle down soon.

This is a calmer and more serene scene than the last two posts. Happy that no-one was killed; seems lucky, doesn’t it.
