Lyttelton at Dusk

lyttelton-sunset

I was in Lyttelton late this afternoon and at around 5pm this is what I saw. The colour disappeared in about 8 minutes. I drove through the tunnel back to Christchurch to see a brilliant red streak of light across the sky, but I could not get a good view of it – I kept trying to get to a good vantage point but gave up! I really need to be able to judge when a red sky is going to happen and be prepared for it!

This is just a great photo. Very well-exposed and the sky is magnificent!

Nice photo Michelle. The sky changes so often, I got some fantastic sunset photos a couple of evenings the last couple of months and a few mintues here and there can make all the difference.
