Spectrum Street Art at the YMCA
Christchurch has been something of a blank canvas for street artists from all around the world, and now street art has gone indoors at the YMCA with the Spectrum Street Art Festival. The exhibition of street art is on until May 10th and admission is absolutely free. It’s quite stunning what the artists have put…
Ruby Rubberlegs contortionist at Busker Park
The busker festival is on again and I finally got into Busker Park to have a look. This is Ruby Rubberlegs – I caught her contortionist act today. I had to look away a few times!
A lovely afternoon in the Botanic Gardens
I went for a short walk around the gardens this afternoon and timed it quite well, though accidentally. I arrived just as the musicians started playing for the crowd at the Lazy Sunday event. So it was very pleasant walking around and taking photos.

My Favourites from the Ellerslie Flower Show
I got along to the Ellerslie Flower show today and for the first time actually made it to the Jenny Gillies fashion parade. I would have put more photos up from the parade, but it was quite hard to get good ones when you are at the back! It’s always such a popular show and…

Ellerslie International Flower Show
I went to the Ellerslie International Flower Show this afternoon. It was a stunning day to go as you can tell from the photos. Really sunny and hot. Maybe just a little too hot for my liking! So cute! Love these frog sculptures. This floral display was simply stunning! Raumati South School –…
Chinese Lantern Festival
Most years I go along to the Chinese Lantern Festival. It used to be in Victoria Square but of course that’s not an ideal location now considering it borders the red-zone of the city. Plus, I think the lantern festival has outgrown the square and is much better suited to Hagley Park. It’s such a…
