It’s been a while since I last photographed the Te Pae convention centre, so I thought it was time for an update now that the landscaping is really taking effect. It’s a stunning building and I love how it sits in its environment by the Avon River and the trees.

The colourful elephant sculture is part of a series of elephants around the city. The one pictured is called “It’s Blooming Camouflage” and is by artist Megan Prendergast.

How lovely that you are back! Christchurch looks stunning. The photos cheer up a bleak northern hemisphere winter 😀

The Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre really does look quite inviting surrounded by such an attractive environment.

Love the painted elephant called “It’s Blooming Camouflage” as it reminds me of the much, much smaller hand painted terracotta figurines made in Mexico I’ve been slowly adding to a collection I started after finding a very detailed hand painted terracotta cat from Mexico at a thrift store. Placed inside various sized (to fit) small wooden planter boxes turned on their sides and stacked upon my fireplace mantel for display, this collection of mine is starting to look like a work of art bigger than the sum of its parts.
