This intersection at the corner of High and Tuam Streets is making news at the moment, for the fact that it will have 18 traffic signals, which will direct motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and the tram drivers.
It’s been said the lights are ‘overkill’ and poor design. I’m sure though that once the blue covers come off and we are actually using them they will make perfect sense. At least that was my experience of traffic signals at an intersection I use – that has around 13. When the lights were covered it seemed ridiculous, but as soon as they switched those lights on, it all made perfect sense.
One response to “Many lights will make intersection work for everyone”
I imagine it’ll take time to get used to the new system.
