They’ve been working on this stretch of the Avon River as part of the river re-development. It has been narrowed and is now flowing a lot faster. The increased flow will help improve the quality of the water and bring back the natural eco-system. The area to the left (out of shot) will eventually have terraced seating on it. Looks like they’ve finished working in the right hand side as it has been grass seed on it now. There is tussock planting on the banks. It’s going to be exciting to see this area develop further.
