The Barrington St overbridge opened on Saturday. I drove over it on Sunday – and was on it before I realised ‘oh wow I’m on the new road!”. Those road engineers sure know how to seamlessly integrate a new road into an old one. Eventually the road will go all the way to State Highway one – which will be fantastic for an easy exit south out of the city.

It’s quite exciting to get a shiny new bit of road open – especially after driving on some pretty shocking roads around Christchurch (they’ve been damaged quite badly due to our earthquakes). Will be wonderful once the road gets to Highway one.
