By late afternoon we had quite a lovely day in Christchurch, so it was off to the beach – Southshore to be exact. I always find it funny being on the other side of the spit from Sumner – and it gives you quite a different perspective – especially now after the landscape has changed so much and shipping containers line the road. The Kite boarder is a member of the photo club who was obliging enough to put on a show of kite boarding (and surfing as well at one point) for us so we could practice our action shots!

A rocky outcrop with jagged stones and greenery at the base, partially submerged in water, with shipping containers visible along the coastline in the background.
A close-up of a vibrant purple flower surrounded by green foliage.
