The Uni-Cycle pathway goes from the central city / Hagley Park right up to the University of Canterbury (as far as the Teacher’s college). Most of the pathway is off the road, some of it is on quiet roads with ‘sharrows’ (shared lane markings).

Well the title had me guessing for a while ! A unicycle is a vehicle that touches the ground with only one wheel. The most common variation has a frame with a saddle, and has a pedal-driven direct drive. Wikipedia

Ah! I had to Google the name of the cycle path myself to make sure I wasn’t making it up!

Have fun! I’m probably going to do the Papanui one this weekend. I’ll be full pedal power, but go part of the way by bus (now that we’ve figured out how to use the bike carrier on the buses!).

We’ve got an extensive bike network in our city, a lot of which stays away from the streets.
