Spring Flowers in Autumn
These flowers are normally early flowering in the springtime but of course it’s actually Autumn. Not sure what will happen when they should be flowering.
Avon River, River Road in Autumn
I frequently drive along Avonside Drive thinking I wish I could stop and take a photo – as during this time of the year the river is just stunning with the amazing colours and reflections. Well today, I purposely drove there as I knew it would be beautiful late this afternoon.
Blossom Tree by the Avon River
A lovely (and I think reasonably recent edition) to the Avon River bank on Oxford Terrace. I can never get enough of Christchurch’s blossom trees. And they are here for such a short time that you just have to get out and make the most of them.
Daffodils in South Hagley Park
The daffodils in South Hagley Park are looking stunning right now.
Daffodils in Cathedral Square
I’ve never noticed these daffodils in the Cathedral Square before, so am not sure if they have only recently been planted there. It’s certainly a lovely touch though. I vote for daffodils everywhere.
Signs of Spring
A few Spring related photos from Bridle Path Road. And below is a little video I posted to Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/BX2Hau6g4As/
Early Signs of Spring at the Botanic Gardens
We’ve got early daffodils and crocus flowers
Beautiful Tree on Oxford Terrace
This stunning tree stands on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Kilmore Street by the Avon river. I always admire it when I drive by. I was hoping to capture it in the late afternoon sunshine, but it clouded. Apparently the tree is a Gingko biloba (Maidenhair Tree)
A walk down River Road
I drive down Avonside Drive a lot, and if it’s the right time of the day, I usually wish I could pull over and take a few photos on the side of the road. It’s a busy road though and there’s no real pedestrian access on the left-hand side as you travel East. So, for…
A lovely balmy Autumn day today, so it was off to the beach we went. On the short drive to Sumner, Christchurch appeared to be an advert for outdoor living in New Zealand. There were people out sailing in the estuary, lots of people walking, skating, running or cycling down the coastal pathway, and then…
Autumn Splendor in the Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens are just stunning this time of year, and I always feel I ‘over do’ the Autumn photos – but it’s hard to stop snapping away when the light and the colours are so appealing. This tree is now officially known as ‘Michelle’s favourite tree in the gardens’ – as I keep leading…
Blossom Tree by the Water Wheel
Every year I like to get a photo of this water wheel in Oxford Terrace. For a few years I would go too early for the blossom and then I would go back too late! So now I’ve worked out pretty much the right time to go. There were a lot of people taking photos…
