The Festival of Flowers has been on and in the Square there are quite a few floral displays, including this one that surrounds the Chalice sculpture. I rather like it and think it would be kind of neat if it stayed!

Kowhai seed pod sculpture seat at Sumner Beach
This sculpture is by the beach near Marriner Street in Sumner. It was unveiled this week and is by Christchurch sculptor Chris Reddington. Easter Island Sculpture at the Arts Centre
This sculpture is in the Arts Centre (near the old Dux de Lux). It was a gift to Christchurch from Chile and was carved by Tebo from Rapa Nui (Easter Island). It commemorates the 20th Anniversary of the bilateral relations between New Zealand and Chile.

Flour Power Sculpture on High Street

Bronze Bulls on Madras Street
These wonderful Bull sculptures can be seen on Madras Street at the moment – they will be part of an exhibition at NG Gallery on Madras Street by artist Michael Parekowhai. I’ll definitely be checking out the exhibition next week – I’ve really missed having somewhere to go and view art.
