Box of flowers on Main Road
These flowers on Main Road are part of a promotion for the florist on Bridle Path Road – I often see the flowers out and decided they’d make an interesting subject while out on my walk this evening. It’s been quite an eventful day in Christchurch with hot weather and strong winds fanning the flames…

One couch free to a good home
Spotted in Heathcote while I was out for my bike ride. I couldn’t believe my luck that a spotted dog walked into the frame making the image just that bit more interesting. The dog then stopped to investigate the couch. It’s not normal for couches to appear on the street here!

Colourful Plastic Sheep on High Street
High Street has been invaded by a flock of very colourful striped plastic sheep. It’s a nice bit of whimsy to an area that is still struggling and needs its share of revitalisation. There are new developments around here that have taken off (like Stranges Lane) but it’s still quite empty and a bit barren.…

Frieze: Stand in the Sun, New Regent Street
These blue shadow people are being painted on the boarded up shops in New Regent street (the few that did not get renovated). Brockworth Street Art Gallery in Riccarton
There is a long footpath that runs beside the railway line from Riccarton Road and goes to Brockworth Street and all along the wall are these colourful murals. Love the ‘Keep Calm it’s Street Art’.

Stormtrooper Art in St Martins
This stormtrooper is on a fence at the roundabout of St Martins Road and Gamblins Road. Someone who follows the blog alerted it to my existence (thanks Theresa). I think this is the same fence that a while back had the keep calm sign on it crossed out – see https://www.christchurchdailyphoto.com/2011/01/15/freak-out-and-panic/

Cow art on a power pole in Hillsborough
Spotted on a pole in Hillsborough (near Port Hills Road but I can’t remember which street it was!). It made me smile – love seeing these little bits of whimsy all over the city.

Chorus Cabinet Art in Heathcote
This is part of the cabinet art from Chorus. Am guessing it depicts the pioneers who can over the Bridle Path road.

Clockwork Emporium and Cafe in New Regent Street
I’m back posting again after a being out of Christchurch for a bit and then all of the rain. Today I decided the rain wasn’t going away so I should get out and take some jolly photos. While going for a walk around the city, I came across the newly opened Clockwork Emporium and Cafe…
